This four-day group departure from Islamabad covers the essentials of the Kaghan Valley: the drive up through Balakot to Naran, a jeep excursion to the legendary Lake Saif-ul-Muluk, and a day trip along the Kunhar River to Lulusar Lake and the 4,173-metre Babusar Top before the return journey.
Itinerary

Day 1 β Islamabad to Balakot and Naran (250 km / 10β11 hrs)
Depart Islamabad for Naran, passing through Hassan Abdal, Haripur and Abbottabad to reach Mansehra. After a brief lunch stop in Mansehra, continue to Balakot β the gateway to the Kaghan Valley β and on to Naran, where you check in to the hotel for the night.

Day 2 β Excursion to Lake Saif-ul-Muluk (20 km / 4 hrs)
Visit the legendary Lake Saif-ul-Muluk at 3,200 metres, where Malika Parbat (5,271 m), the highest peak in the valley, towers over the water and offers superb photography. The lake is approached by 4WD jeeps. After spending some time at the lake, return to Naran; the evening is free for a walk around Naran Bazaar.

Day 3 β Excursion to Babusar Pass (130 km / 5 hrs)
After breakfast, head up along the Kunhar River through Batakundi, Jalkhad and Burwai to Lulusar Lake, famous for its sparkling waters. After a photography stop, continue upward past Gitidas, a summer settlement of sheepherders, to Babusar Top (road conditions permitting). At 4,173 metres, Babusar Top is the gateway to Gilgit-Baltistan. After time at the top, return to Naran.

Day 4 β Naran to Islamabad (200 km / 7β8 hrs)
After an early breakfast, drive back down through Balakot, Mansehra and Abbottabad, joining the motorway at Haripur for Islamabad, with drop-off at the designated spot.
