Day 1 β Islamabad to Chilas
Leave the capital at sunrise for a long but exhilarating 12β14 hour drive to Chilas. The road winds through the lush valleys of Mansehra and Abbottabad, with rushing rivers, cascading waterfalls and towering peaks at every corner. Ascending the Kaghan Valley, the rugged mountains close in, and by Naran you are fully immersed in the raw beauty of northern Pakistan. As dusk settles, arrive in Chilas and check in to your hotel for the night.

Day 2 β Chilas to Fairy Meadows
After a hearty breakfast, the journey to Fairy Meadows begins. The first leg is smooth, but soon the rough jeep track delivers an adrenaline-pumping climb, every turn revealing more majestic views of snow-capped Nanga Parbat towering over the valley. Arrive at Fairy Meadows β serene and untouched, like a dream β and check in to a cozy camp or hut, spending the day breathing pure mountain air beneath the mountain's grandeur.

Day 3 β Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat Base Camp
A day to lose yourself in the enchantment of Fairy Meadows. Experienced trekkers can take on the thrilling hike to Nanga Parbat Base Camp, drawing ever closer to one of the world's highest peaks; those after a gentler day can enjoy a nature walk through meadows of wildflowers and towering pines. As golden sunset light sweeps the meadows, gather around a campfire before another night under the stars.

Day 4 β Fairy Meadows to Hunza
Reluctantly leave Fairy Meadows by jeep back to the main road, then drive about 5β6 hours to Hunza past rushing rivers, lush green fields and the peaks of the Hindu Kush, through small villages each with its own story. Check in with a breathtaking view of Rakaposhi looming over the valley, then visit Baltit Fort and Altit Fort, where centuries of history meet panoramic views of this alpine paradise. The evening is yours to soak in Hunza's charm.

Day 5 β Upper Hunza: Gulmit, Passu and Attabad Lake
Explore Upper Hunza, a region of dramatic landscapes and towering peaks β Rakaposhi, Ultar Sar and Ladyfinger Peak seen from the famous Eagle's Nest viewpoint. Marvel at the jagged, snow-covered Passu Cones and the serene Borith Lake, and dare to cross the Husseini Suspension Bridge, one of the world's most dangerous bridges. Gulmit village offers traditional Hunza architecture and valley views from Gulmit Fort, while turquoise Attabad Lake β formed by a landslide in 2010 β is a picture-perfect spot for boating. Return to Hunza for the night.

Day 6 β Hunza to Skardu
After breakfast, bid farewell to Hunza for the roughly 5β6 hour drive to Skardu. The landscape transforms from alpine meadows to rugged mountain terrain, with the Indus River carving through the valleys below. On arrival, check in and rest β or visit Skardu Fort for views over the town, or the stunning Shangri-La Resort, known as 'Heaven on Earth'. A peaceful evening in Skardu rounds out the day.

Day 7 β Skardu to Khaplu
Head to Khaplu, a hidden gem and tranquil town in the heart of Baltistan, about 3β4 hours' drive away. After check-in, explore Khaplu Fort, perched high above the valley with jaw-dropping views of lush valleys, winding rivers and distant peaks. Khaplu's quiet beauty and rich history make for a perfectly relaxing afternoon.

Day 8 β Khaplu to Shigar
After a peaceful morning, continue to Shigar β a short 1.5β2 hour drive through some of the region's most breathtaking landscapes. Visit Shigar Fort, an ancient fortress with sweeping views of the Shigar Valley, and wander its peaceful courtyards. The rest of the day is free to stroll and soak in this remote corner of the world.

Day 9 β Shigar to Gilgit
Leave Shigar for the 5β6 hour drive to Gilgit, a bustling town in the heart of northern Pakistan, through rugged terrain of snow-capped peaks and vast river valleys. Explore the vibrant Gilgit Bazaar for traditional handicrafts and souvenirs, and visit the ancient Kargah Buddha, an impressive rock carving dating back to the 8th century. The evening is perfect for savoring local cuisine.

Day 10 β Gilgit to Naran
After breakfast, drive about 6β7 hours to Naran, a charming hill station in the Kaghan Valley, past lush valleys, waterfalls and mighty mountains.
