The United Arab Emirates is where tradition meets modernity and natural beauty blends with architectural marvels. Whether you are chasing adventure in vast deserts, exploring cultural landmarks or indulging in luxury, the UAE has something for every traveller from Pakistan.
Dubai
Dubai is a city of superlatives where the ancient meets the ultra-modern, famous for its luxurious lifestyle, innovative architecture and vibrant culture. Adventure, relaxation or cultural exploration β Dubai delivers all three.
Burj Khalifa
The tallest building in the world rises over 800 metres (2,700 feet) above Dubai. Observation decks near the top reveal incredible views across the entire city β skyscrapers, highways, beaches and the Gulf beyond. The engineering challenges solved to build it make the Burj Khalifa one of the great feats of modern architecture and construction.
Dubai Mall
One of the biggest shopping malls on the planet, Dubai Mall houses hundreds of shops covering fashion, electronics and home goods, alongside countless restaurants, cafes and food courts. Entertainment goes far beyond shopping β a giant aquarium inside the mall lets you walk through underwater tunnels among remarkable sea creatures. It is easily a full-day destination.
Palm Jumeirah
Just off Dubai's coast, Palm Jumeirah is instantly recognisable from above for its palm-tree shape β a central trunk with long fronds spreading outward. The island hosts luxury hotels with ocean views, upscale residences, shops and restaurants, making it a one-of-a-kind stop on any UAE trip.
Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, the UAE's capital and second most populous city, sits on an island in the Persian Gulf off the country's central western coast. It is the largest of the seven emirates, covering around 67,340 square kilometres (26,000 square miles).
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
This enormous mosque can hold more than 40,000 worshippers at once. Its white marble exterior carries 82 elaborately carved domes, the main prayer hall holds one of the world's largest chandeliers β over 15 metres wide and set with Swarovski crystals β and the courtyard features the world's largest marble mosaic, crafted from over 17 types of marble. It is an awe-inspiring showcase of Islamic architecture and artistry.
Louvre Abu Dhabi
Born of a partnership between France and the UAE, the Louvre Abu Dhabi holds artworks and artefacts spanning thousands of years and many civilisations. Jean Nouvel's building is a masterpiece in itself, crowned by a vast dome that seems to float on the water, with bright, light-filled galleries beneath. Temporary exhibitions bring loaned works from the Louvre in Paris and other major institutions.
Yas Island
Yas Island highlights
- Yas Marina Circuit β the Formula 1 track that hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with driving experiences available
- Yas Marina β luxury yachts, waterfront restaurants, shops and hotels
- Yas Island beaches for swimming and relaxing
- Ferrari World Abu Dhabi β a theme park of thrilling Ferrari-branded rides
- Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi β an indoor park themed around beloved characters
- Yas Waterworld β a huge water park of slides and pools
Sharjah
Sharjah, just north of Dubai and the third-largest emirate, is known as the cultural capital of the UAE for its dedication to preserving Emirati heritage and the arts. Its economy spans manufacturing, tourism, aviation and technology, and Sharjah International Airport is an important regional hub.
Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization
Opened in 2008, this museum holds over 5,000 artefacts spanning 1,400 years of Islamic civilisation β calligraphy, ceramics, metalwork and textiles across themed galleries, including the Gallery of the Holy Qur'an with its ancient manuscripts.
Souk Al Arsah
One of Sharjah's most atmospheric traditional markets, Souk Al Arsah feels like a step back in time β handicrafts, handwoven textiles, fragrant spices and incense fill its lanes, offering a genuine taste of Emirati tradition.
Noor Island
Set along Khalid Lagoon, the man-made Noor Island blends nature, art and architecture into a lush oasis. Its star attraction is the Butterfly House, home to hundreds of vibrant butterflies from around the world.
