Kaghan Valley Group Tour

Kaghan Valley is a breathtaking paradise in the heart of Pakistan — lush green valleys, crystal-clear lakes, snow-capped peaks and cascading waterfalls, with diverse flora and fauna that make it ideal for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike. This 5-day group itinerary covers the valley's icons, from Lake Saif-ul-Muluk to Babusar Top, and adds the Shogran plateau and Khanpur Lake on the way home. Travellers from Karachi can fly to Islamabad to join the tour.

Tour Itinerary

1. 1

   Day 1 — Islamabad to Naran via Balakot (250 km, 10–11 hrs)

   Depart Islamabad for Naran, passing through Hassan Abdal, Haripur and Abbottabad to reach Mansehra. After a brief lunch stop there, resume the drive to Balakot, the gateway to Kaghan Valley, and continue to Naran for hotel check-in and overnight stay.

2. 2

   Day 2 — Lake Saif-ul-Muluk excursion (20 km, 4 hrs)

   Visit the legendary Lake Saif-ul-Muluk at 3,200 m, where Malika Parbat (5,271 m), the highest peak of the valley, towers over the water and offers superb photography. The lake can be reached by jeep, on foot or riding a pony. After a packed picnic lunch at the lake, return to Naran, with the evening free for a walk around Naran bazaar.

3. 3

   Day 3 — Babusar Pass excursion (130 km, 5 hrs)

   After breakfast, head up the valley along the River Kunhar through Batakundi, Jalkhad and Burwai to Lulusar Lake, famous for its sparkling waters. After a photo stop, continue upward through the summer settlement of Gitidas to Babusar Top, road conditions permitting. At 4,173 metres, Babusar Top is the gateway to Gilgit-Baltistan. After some time at the top, return to Naran.

4. 4

   Day 4 — Naran to Shogran via Kawai

   Leave early and enjoy the drive along the River Kunhar, crossing the village of Kaghan to Kawai and onward up to Shogran — a high plateau with a superb panorama all around. Overnight at Shogran.

5. 5

   Day 5 — Shogran to Islamabad via Khanpur (200 km, 7–8 hrs)

   After an early breakfast, drive down through Balakot, Mansehra and Abbottabad to Haripur, then take the road to Khanpur Lake — a picturesque lake offering panoramic views and various water sports. After some time at Khanpur, depart for Islamabad with drop-off at the designated spot.
